    altgr + key matlab issue

    Hi All!

I have a new FC10 installation and I have never met this issue before.
My altgr + key combination works fine, but not in Matlab.
    For example algr + 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 results same as without altgr and that's the same for , . abd - keys.

I have google but found nothing helpful.
    Any idea?

    Robert

Sounds like a similar problem, that I am currently trying to deal with. I get same misbehavior in Dosbox and VMWare Player.

As far as I know, it is a "kbd vs hal/evdev" issue. I can fix my problem by disable the hotplugging of input devices in xorg.conf, with the section below.

    Section "ServerFlags"
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "false"
    EndSection

Note that mouse and keyboard will have to be preconfigured manually in xorg.conf.

Not a preferable solution, but the only one I got for now.

    Thanks for answering.

It is really the unpreferable solution.
I still try to use an other editor for matlab and run commands as program.

Any other idea for a preferable solution?

I've just registered to this forum to answer you.
The problems seems to be due to SCIM (I guess you have SCIM activated?). You can disable it only for the matlab application when starting matlab as follows (this works perfectly for me):

    LANG=us_US.UTF-8 QT_IM_MODULE=xim GTK_IM_MODULE=xim XMODIFIERS=XIM matlab

Please tell me whether this also worked for you. I hope I could help you.
