FC2: first user account / menu editing /modules.conf

Several weird things happened while clean install:

The first created user account on the new system contains a wrong password. Same thing happened in FC2T3:
- Username: pegasus
- Password : aBcdEF7H

No chance to log in! You must log in as root and change the password manualy to "aBcdEF7H". Now this new created user us able to log in...

Kernel 2.6.5-1.358 uses alsa by default. Tested on a system using an onboard-soundcard (ens1371), i was wondering where the hell modules.conf is (oss config etc.). It didn't exist...

Anyone tried "kmenuedit" in KDE? Did the menu becomes changed?

Same in gnome: logged in as root (or user), removing a menuitem is impossible because inside the contextmenu "remove this item" is disabled!

Anyone else having these "features" after install?

Password: Do you use standard English US layout? For some reason that is what the firstboot utility uses no matter what else fedora uses, perhaps you are actually entering it in funky when you are using firstboot? (due to keyboard settings).

modules.conf has changed to modprobe.conf in kernel 2.6

And I can't comment about the menu editing.
