mount -o loop image.iso /mnt/temp
if you forget -o loop option, you get error with advice "try -o loop instead"

I use MountISOimage that was in the August issue of Linux Format. It is small and I would be happy to send it to you.

Sorry should have specified why. It adds a right click access for all of it's functions. To quote from the description

"Mount ISO Image is an advanced script that makes it possible to perform multiple operations with ISO, NRG (Nero Burning ROM), UDF (DVD), CUE/BIN, CCD/IMG/SUB (CloneCD), and XDVDFS (XBOX) images. It can mount and unmount ISO, NRG, and CUE/BIN images, create ISO, UDF, and XDVDFS images from folders and CDROMs, calculate the MD5 sum for images, and convert CUE/BIN, NRG, and CloneCD images to ISO."

BTW I am using KDE. New to posting so thanks for you patience.

I know that thread is about mounting but you can browse iso images without going root using midnight commander. latest unstable version has support for iso image VFS, you just need to grab latest SRPM of MC, change some variables in spec file (it also comes with SMB browser, briliant) and compile it...

have a look you just press [Enter] on *.iso file

You can always download OpenOffice as a binary install (remove the installed RPM first).

I don't know if these are the most current -- I got them about a month ago. I needed the 3 to complete the installation.
