Angry Nvidia Problems

Recently installed second nvidia video card to try and fix problem, but it seems the nvidia driver doesn't want to play nice with the keyboard or mouse it keeps disabling them. The Xorg log contains the following warnings:
AllowEmptyInput is on devices using drivers 'Kbd or Mouse' will be disabled.
Disabling Keyboard 0

How can I turn off the Allow Empty Input? I can't seem to find it anywhere but it has to be there.

Thanks for the help

Try: as root user, run 'Xorg -configure :1' (omit quotes), which will create xorg.conf.new in current folder, which can be copied to /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Then edit (as root user) the file so "ServerLayout" section has:
Code:
AllowEmptyInput "FALSE"

Hi Hlingler,
Thanks for the information I had to add that line to the serverlayout I hope that is ok.
This is the same problem when I had the FX5200 card in here now I've got A Geforce 6200A LE card running the 177 driver is that right?

Yes.

No, the colors must be syntax highlighting in the text editor. If that fails, try:
Code:
        Option "AllowEmptyInput "FALSE"
We'll find out if it works after you re-start X.

Thank you Hlingler, you were right it worked after restarting X , but for some strange reason X still hangs once in awhile then it my recover but doesn't work quite right when it does.
I haven't found any error messages, sometimes it will hang behind the screensaver and the screensaver just keeps on running but sometimes it will hang the screensaver. Any ideas?

Yes: I see the exact same thing you describe (I think) with latest xscreensaver* update packages on both F8 and F9, so I suspect a bug in xscreensaver (probably needs some "love" to comply with latest X11/Xorg. stuff). What I see: xscreensaver cannot be unlocked, display powersave feature (DPMS) fails to engage, manual kill of xscreensaver process via webmin from other PC required to un-bork. If that is what you're seeing too, I suggest that you search bugzilla.redhat.com and file a bug if one isn't already filed. I'd do it myself, but I've already got plenty sitting there with my name on them. Otherwise, this is fairly low on my list of annoyances, and I hope another update will soon fix.

Hlingler, I've switched to F10 one drive is upgraded from F9 the other is an upgrade from Beta that I keep up to date. I can be using a web browser loading a game or just letting the desktop set idle and sometimes it will lock, it may recover and it may not.
Never more then ten degree difference in temp between CPU and GPU which run at 47 C and 55 C
I'm about ready to pull out what little hair I have left and give up on the Nvidia Card.

PCLinuxOS 2007 LiveCD ran for half an hour on an older kernel using the nv driver with no problem.

Hlingler. just thought that I'd let you know that I haven't completely solved the problemwith my computer but I getting closer. The problem is it's a Biostar motherboard with a Via chipset and there is a conflict with the Nvidia card that has to be set in the Bios . Supposedly via updated the miniport driver for windows and it's suppose to fix it in windows XP, but I haven't put my card back in yet to try, I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks For your help.
