Installing over Ubuntu Dual Boot

From a recommendation from my teacher I will be switching from Ubuntu to Fedora. Now I have a dual boot of Windows XP with Ubuntu 8.10. I use GRUB as the boot loader. Now I think that the installer will install over my current partition (L:\ on windows) and install Fedora over Ubuntu but what worries me is GRUB. Will GRUB still be up and running and show Fedora instead of Ubuntu or do I need to override my current GRUB settings with the GRUB settings from the Fedora installer?

The Fedora installer will pick up on the fact that Windows is also installed. It will call it Other in the menu. You can change that later. The install will also overwrite your Ubuntu setup. Make sure you've backed up anything important. Not that there's anything wrong with the Fedora installer. Just good practice.

But what about GRUB? Will Fedora just wipe that clean and put in its own? I just don't want to get a GRUB error and not be able to get on OS on my comp.

Fedora will install it's own grub and you will get a menu offering Fedora and Other.
