Hi,
I'm running skype on 64 bit fc9 with logitech webcam.
Everything used to work but recently only the sound is working.
When I open skype's option I see a webcam but when I press
test video button skype crashes.
Well, my first advice is to stop webcaming with my sister. That sort of thing happens when she's around mirrors and cameras. Even the neighborhood dogs yelp and run for cover when she's a comin' round the corner.

I had the same problem, and your suggestion prevented Skype from quitting and got the camera to function.... well almost. Unfortunately, the camera no longer appears to be operating at the same frame rate as before. Outgoing video stutters instead of being sent in a continuous smooth stream. This did not happen under my former distro (Ubuntu 8.4.1).
My camera is a QTEC Webcam 100 and is currently using the PAC207 driver. I just went out and bought another camera (from a list of approved open source approved software) just to be sure that everything was ok on the hardware, (Logitech Quickcam Deluxe for notebooks). That one doesn't work at all!
Thanks for the quick response. I did install the 32 bit version and it did correct the inability of the camera to function. However, the problem may very well be with the driver itself. Under my former system, while using Skype, CPU utilization was at 95%... but I did have full motion video. Under the current set up, the utilization has been reduced to appx. 40% under Skype. However, this could be due to the fact that the CPU is not doing the "translation" as mentioned in the article. This is a strange animal... two steps forward and one back. I was hoping that there was a way to select another driver for my camera, but there doesn't appear any way to do it.
