Samsung TV - HUGE fonts

I installed Fedora 10 Preview. X comes up with huge fonts. I've read elsewhere it has something to do with EDID hardware detection.

My TV is a Samsung LN-T4661F - the physical size of the device is huge (1016mmx572mm) but the Xorg.0.log shows that the EDID gets a bit confused. I see 160x90 at one point, and 0x0 at another. Also, running xrandr after the fact gives the size 160x90, but xdpyinfo give 508x286. Also xrandr doesn't seem to change anything (when I change dpi or fbmm.)

I disabled DDC in my xorg.conf file once and everything was sized correctly, but the fonts looked crappy - as if my monitor were only capable of 640x480.

However, either way, the resolution for everything except fonts is amazing. The graphics look great in all their 1920x1080 glory. The desktop effects work great. I've tried to attach the Xorg.0.log, xdpyinfo and xrandr, but I'm new to the forum and I'm not sure the attachment worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

See DPI - "dots per inch".

Sorry - what would have been evident if the attaching process worked was my driver is intel.

Now, I have tried various dpi related solutions. I've call startx with

startx -- -dpi 96

This gives good font sizes, but they are blocky and horribly rendered.

I've created an xorg.conf with a line DisplaySize 508 286 and this has no effect.

I've added Option "DDC" "off" and this gives good font sizes, just horribly rendered.

Through all of this, I've become convinced that my TV does not giv e the correct EDID information, and the intel driver is making bad choices.
