[SOLVED]Suspend/hibernate settings and sleep button not working

I guess it is as simple as the subject line says. I have tried various settings to get my laptop to go into stand-by when I close the lid on laptop, and none of them have worked. Is this a bug in Fedora? Or is it that I don't know how to check a checkbox or select from a list? Or is it other? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated in advance.

Thank you,
theAdmiral

Some laptops have problems with suspend/hibernate. You don't say what laptop you have though.

Do a search for your model and see if others report similar issues, and maybe solutions.
