I have F10 with xorg at:
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.5.3-5.fc10.i386
.. basically up to date as of today (but has been occuring previously)
I frequently (had it ~5 times today) get X crashing around:

I suspect this is occuring when using OpenOffice (3.0).
I have another machine running Ubuntu 8.1 / Xorg 1.5.2 where this odes not happen. Apart from sw level Key differences are:
* Failing machine is laptop with external logitech wireless kbd, rather than std kbd
* Failing machine has dual screens (big desktop ) at 3200x1200 instead of 1280x1024
* Failing machine has ATI V5200, whilst working one has Intel 835 integrated graphics with compiz enabled and 3 additional extensions XRECORD SECURITY XC_APPGROUP loaded
Openoffice & the charts I'm editing in impress are the same
