Question Hibernate / Suspend doesn't work on MSI GX700

Here is my hardware profile:
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pu...3-df046951292e

Here is what happens when I try to do the following:

Suspend (via System->Shut Down->Suspend in GNOME):
-Computer shuts down perfectly and suspend light flashes on laptop case.
-After pressing power button to wake up, computer starts, then immediately shuts down.
-after pressing power button a second time, computer boots normally

Hibernate (via System->Shut Down->Hibernate in GNOME):
-Computer saves all 4Gb memory, then shuts off
-Upon pressing the power button, to resume, the hard drive light flashes for a while (and I can hear the disk spinning), then stops abruptly after a couple of minutes.
-The screen remains blank the entire time during restart

Are there any configuration options for Suspend that i can play around with to get it working?
Is the blank screen after Hibernate due to Nvidia's Hardware or Driver?
Is there anything I can do to get either Hibernate or Suspend working? (they werk fine in Winblows)
Thank you all in advance!

You may also wish to look at:

System --> Preferences --> System --> Power Management
and
System --> Preferences --> Look and Feel --> Screensaver

With the blank screen after hibernate - often there's a BIOS option to reset Video hardware on wake-up, so check/enable that option - no guarantees, though.

These resources may help (again, no guarantees):

http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-321369.html
http://www.brighthub.com/environment...cles/9738.aspx

I'm sure there are more useful resources out there.

Suspend-to-RAM and suspend-to-disk (hibernate) both have a history of being problematic in Linux, though things seem to be improving. From what I understand, whether either or both work, and to what degree, can be quite hardware dependent.
