If you ever need it back, go to network manager again, devices. then click new, then wireless connector. Your device should be listed, select it, then make sure mode is "managed" and not auto. network name, leave as auto, or specified depending on what you need, and the rest just do as it does. Then it might work better. it could have been that your wireless was trying to disconnect, and re-connect, when it wasn't connected in the first place. But I'm not sure.
