Exclamation Cannot log into GDM or Fluxbox

Hi, I'm currently having problems logging in to either gdm or fluxbox. Everything was working smoothly until I installed Mono today. I shutdown my laptop and when I booted it hours later, I was hit by the surprise. The login screen comes on but when I click on it to enter my password, nothing happens. I then logged onto a terminal, and these are the errors I get:

Code:
$fluxbox
Couldn't connect to the XServer
Code:
$gdm
** (gdm-binary:????) WARNING**: No such file or directory
Upon further inspection using the backup cd, I realized that I'm missing "/usr/X11R6'. Is this due to the fact that I uninstalled Mono when I realized that it was 'hijacking' or rather using it's own version of the commands that I was trying to run? Any help would be greatly appreciated,
