play youtube movies on Totem

I have Totem player installed with the YouTube-plugin and YouTube H264.

I am able to search the database of YouTube for songs but I am not able to play them.

[root@localhost faac]# cd /usr/lib/totem/plugins/
[root@localhost plugins]# ls -l
total 40
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 gromit
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 media-player-keys
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 ontop
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 properties
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 screensaver
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 skipto
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 thumbnail
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-15 15:33 totem
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-10-18 20:06 youtube
drwxr-xr-x 2 1000 1000 4096 2008-03-28 23:30 youtubeh264

When I select YouTube in the sidebar I get the following error-message :

Totem cannot play this type of media (YouTube) because you do not have the appropriate plugins to handle it.

When I select YouTube H264 in the sidebar I get the following error-message :

The playback of this movie requires the following decoders which are not installed:
H.264 decoder
MPEG-4 AAC decoder

I downloaded an mpeg4 decoder namely faac from sourceforge and compiled it.

I keep getting these errors. Did someone here got it to work ??
Via google I read a lot of successful installs for Ubuntu. Surely it must be possible for Fedora9 32bit also ?!

Hi if you use autonine to install flash and dvdplayback it will install all the codecs you need and dont probably need, and you should have no problems with totem-youtube

Thank you very much. Now everything works...

I just seem to have problems now with gdm. I do not get the GUI to log in. I need to login in textline and then make 'startx'.
Like if I start my linix in init 3.. but my default is set to runlevel 5.

Will have to look into this...
