Touchpad stopped working after gpm command

hi,
I wanted to have mouse cursor in virtual console, I ran gpm command as root, it didnt give me mouse in virtual console but infact it stopped my touchpad to work. Now i have to use usb mouse all the time.
Any ideas?

Maybe I should try this. Stop touchpad to work is exactly what I want to do. The usual xorg.conf entries do not work any more.

What commands are there to analyse the situation? Where can I look to find where the mouse / touchpad is currently configured?

sorry mate,
My mistake. I accidently locked touchpad with Fn + F7 key combination. And the state remains same even on system reboot.
Sorry again dude. It is now working.
