Exclamation Australia's Great Firewall: just like China, Syria and other "free" countries

http://www.boingboing.net/2008/10/15...great-fir.html

I'm lost for words. We (my Aussie wife and me) were looking forward moving back to Australia. I've never been there, but from what I've heard from her I was looking forward moving there. Now we might not be moving back at all.

Little by little, sometimes in bits so small we barely even notice, those of us in the free countries are losing our freedoms. Someday in the not so distant future some of us will be living under an extreme amount of government oppression. These small changes happen behind our backs by governments that think that they know what's best for the common good, acting on our behalf, without our consent.

Folks, we don't have religious and/or political threads here, for many reasons. So, I'm going to close this one, with the comment that I don't feel anyone has overstepped the bounds, everyone has only been talking about their own, or spouse's country.

While these things are definitely important, this forum doesn't handle them--far too often, tempers get heated, and yes, if you search around you'll find some that do exist, but in this case, I choose to err on the side of caution.

So, I reiterate--I don't think any participants here have gotten out of hand, but we do have a rule about religion and politics here and I am closing it somewhat apologetically.
