How to alter Fedora or Firefox to allow connectivity with Employers

Newcomer to Fedora : (starting with the most pressing problem) I am finding that I cannot submit job applications (meaning the sites respond to "apply", for example, but the circling arrow of Fedora, just circles and circles). I think that I don't know how to adjust Mozilla/Firefox to permit adequate connectivity.

I also am finding that I cannot watch videos (Charlie Rose Show etc.). Either the video screen stays black or if a video stream comes through there is no audio- there is never any audio. I know the audio is working in the computer because I receive my voice mail over the computer.

It's possible that this is a browser incompatability issue but it sounds more like a server side issue with the website you are visiting.
