Sendmail & Cyrus

I have set up my server using Sendmail for SMTP and Cyrus for POP3.
I am a newby and having a hard time seting the mail server up. Both programs are running and when I am on a differant machine and set up a mail account for one of my users on my users when I try to send or recieve messeges I get an error telling me "Invalid Login"
does enyone have any idea wy I am recieving this measage.

check if the service saslauthd is running.

checked started it and it still not working

You need to add users to the database using the saslpasswd command before they can be authenticated.

Hi All
I have setup sendmail and cyrus-imapd
I also can use outlook to send email and read mailbox through imapd.
But I can't receive mails through pop3 or imapd.
I found that I just can receive mail via "mail" (type in tcsh).
So anybody knows what happened ?
