If you know how to boot to run level 3 do so and as root run system-config-display --reconfig or /usr/bin/system-config-display --reconfig. Try booting again. If it doesn't work after that at least there will be an xorg.conf file to play with.

yes did command as root only user setup at moment the follow up boot process after inital install went to the command line and never let me ad additional users. also durning install process all screen would get hung up and required me to tap the down arrow to move on. occured also during the file install process.. everything would be ok then.. naptime until i tapped the key.. i was hoping to get the gui up to get to my cellular modem to get to the akmod-nvidia module.

After you wait and then press a key try using CTRL/ALT/F7 and see if the GUI is there. This has happened to me on many occasions.

Were you able to successfully run system-config-display --reconfig ?? Do you now have an xorg.conf file?

Don't know what the problem is. Have a look here, http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/Options

On a fresh install, it seems that system-config-display is not installed by default and X.org is running without any xorg.conf file being generated.

You can get it by using
Code:
su -
yum install system-config-display
You can also try taking a look at the release notes about disabling the kernel mode setting. I don't know that it would make a difference since the NV driver doesn't do KMS, but it's worth a try.

Smile

sorry if this was the wrong place to post for help.

thanks for all the guidance.

issues resolved

using http://fedora.project.org/wiki/Anaconda/Options

I have the nivida card in my lappy so gui boot wouldnt work out of box on beta. I resolved this by adding usefbx and xdriver=vesa under boot options, poof "It's Alive!!!". I also had the ext4 switch with no issues.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions, even the one not to post here, lol.
