weird yum problem

untill recently i was using a friend's server to update through yum, but as of lately his uptime has been unreliable, i want to switch back and i think i have it set up correctly but i am getting this error

[root@Klamathia testers]# yum list updates
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
Damaged or Bad header.info from Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Base
This is probably because of a downed server or an invalid header.info on a repository.

what does that mean? if you need i can post my yum.conf

Read this thread on just what a damage header is:

http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19763

To fix it:
Code:
yum clean
