Kernel 2.6.26.3-29.fc9.i686 & PageUp, PageDown, Arrow Keys

Just noticed when I booted into run level 3 under 2.6.26.3-29.fc9.i686 that the Page Up, Page Down, & Arrow keys are non-functional in all 6 terminals. When I checked this in GNOME terminal, all keys behaved as normal.

A reboot into 2.6.25.14-108.fc9.i686 confirmed this issue to be related to the later kernel. I have searched for information about this issue, but have not located any other mention of it.

Anyone beside me noticed this or know of the cause? Kernel mucking up the keyboard mappings or something?

After upgrading to kernel 2.6.25.14-108 I noticed that frequently if running outside of X, in terminals 1-6, my arrow keys, page-up, page down, and tab key, cease to function. I initially believed this was as a result of that particular kernel, but it is also happening with 2.6.26.5-45. I can't manage to isolate any one event that consistently triggers this, although many times vim will seem to precede it, but even that is not always the case. It sometimes just happens as soon as I log in, and sometimes not at all. I have found nothing here or on Google about this, and don't really have enough comprehension of what is happening to even know what to file a bug report against. Can anyone please enlighten me?

I am also having keyboard problems in Fedora 9, although I recall having other similar problems in Linux in other installation attempts. There are frequently delays of a few seconds in response to the keyboard followed sometimes by endless repeats of the last keystroke. This is an IBM keyboard, KB-8928, if it matters.

I won't say "Good to hear that your keyboard is also acting up" but at least I'm not imagining this. I have been running Linux for years & years, and have never had an issue like this. I can't find any trace of what's causing it.

I can confirm that I also get the same problem (on two computer)
The problem arises by button 'Insert' pressing (near to HOME, PAGEUP, PAGEDOWN)
The second pressing the button 'insert' returns keyboard operation in a normal mode.

Not a problem Hlingler, I noticed that I initially dumped the post into General, and wanted it in Hardware, but was unsure if it was possible to move the post from one forum to the other, hence the near duplicate post.

Can you try at your terminal:

setxkbmap

Does that works? Just guessing. I only use 'setxkbmap' when I came back from my vmware-server session.

Has a bug report been lodged on this issue anywhere? I can't see one in the RH bugzilla, but i'm not sure it's not there...

I've got the same problem - kernel is 2.6.26.5-45.fc9.x86_64
