HP p1006 won't print in F9

My new printer works fine on my laptop (F8) but not on my desktop (F9). Strangely, I just added F9 tonight to the desktop; it was running F7. It wouldn't print under F7 either.

I refuse to believe that this particular machine simply won't print.

I used the foo2xqx driver, and followed the instructions here:

http://foo2xqx.rkkda.com/

These same instructions worked fine for the laptop.

Where do I start? The symptoms are that...nothing happens. No errors or anything. I was getting a message from SELinux, but I've since disabled that.

Ideas? There has to be a log file somewhere.

Thanks,
~jp

I'm having the same issue in f10 (64 bit). Did you ever get this resolved?

Why can't you use CUPs & HPLIP?

Code:
su
yum install hplip hplip_gui
hp-setup

hplip didn't provide a driver that worked the p1006. I did eventually get it to print by following the install directions here http://foo2xqx.rkkda.com/ _very_ closely. I'm using f10 64bit if that's of any value.

Sorry, forgot to update...

Yes, I resolved it, although I don't recall what I did to make it work.

Yes...I'm a bad Linux user...not sharing my knowledge and all. Too bad, because I'm sure someone else has had the issue.
