FC2 not accessing CDROM/DVD

Under FC1 I was able to access the CDROM in my HP Pavilion N5450 PIII laptop. I have a boot partitiion into WinXP and WinXP can successfully read data either as a CD or DVD. With FC2, kernel 2.6.6, I can not access this drive, or so says Ogle:

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access
libdvdread: Could not open /dev/dvd with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading
ERROR[ogle_nav]: faild to open/read the DVD
DVDSetDVDRoot:: Root not set

As per the FAQ here, I installed Ogle via Yum with the yum.conf file provided. hwbrowser sees the drive but I'm not clear how to verify that the system has properly configured access to the drives.

Smile probable solution...

I got the same problem and figured it out. Probably, it is same problem. I have a cdrom and another dvd+-r/rw drive
First I tried using ogle, xine..error is....
[root@localhost root]# ogle
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access
libdvdread: Could not open /dev/dvd with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading
ERROR[ogle_nav]: faild to open/read the DVD
DVDSetDVDRoot:: Root not set
{same error}
I checked the symlink
/dev/dvd is symlinked to /dev/cdrom
/dev/cdrom symlinked to /dev/hdd
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 Aug 1 01:35 dvd -> cdrom
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Jul 18 10:13 cdrom -> /dev/hdd
brw------- 1 shashank disk 22, 64 Feb 23 16:02 hdd

however, my "df " command shows that dvd is mounted in /dev/hdc and not /dev/hdd
which means, the symlink was not correct. I removed the symlink in /dev directory (rm dvd) and created it back to hdc (or cdrom1) #ln -s /dev/cdrom1 dvd
and it is working fine...
Just check the symlink..it would be fine..
