Starting Install from running Fedora

I have an older Fedora version (5) installed on an old machine. Without going into details, it isn't possible to install from USB, CD, DVD, PXE, etc.

My question: is it possible to start the install process from an already running Fedora?

NOTE: I'm not interested in fixing the problem of booting from anything but the hard drive. It seems reasonable that if I can boot from the hard drive, I should be able to use it to do an install. If it is possible, I haven't been able to find anything on how to go about it.

Is there a better place to ask this question?

Since you didn't mention which version of Fedora you are trying to install, I'll just point you to the Fedora 9 notes.

I was looking at section 7 online never occurred to me to look in the appendices. Looks like what I was after.
