clipboard garbage

Ok, this one I've seen twice in the past week, and it goes like this.

FC9 Gnome is my OS

I have a browser open, and want to send the URL to a co-worker. I highlight the URL in the address bar, right click and copy.

I go into evolution, create a new email, and in the body I hit CTRL+V or right click and PASTE, doesn't matter. but what is pasted is NOT the URL I copied, but some other URL that appears to be a fake site telling people they have a virus and spyware.

I opened GEDIT, and pasted there, same URL. I opened a text document I had, selected some text from it, Copied the text, went to the bottom and pasted, same stupid URL.

Whatever I did I could not get this URL out of my clipboard. I ended up rebooting and that cleared it up, but it has happened twice in a little over a week. And the URL that it's pasting, I've never gone there.

The URL I copied from has been different sites, one was Newegg (today's) and last week it was from slashdot or DIGG, I cannot remember.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Do you have a URL to the page where you tried to copy the URL and can you tell which one of the links on that page you tried to copy.

I remember reading about this Adobe Flash clipboard hijack attack over a month ago.

Interesting, I'd love to know which site it was now. This is good to know.
