Hard drive set to Read-only

So I was playing around with my fedora box yesterday and when I was making some changes to sshd_config it kept coming up saying the file was read only. I checked and made sure I was logged in as root and then saw that my hard drive was set to read only. Whenever I tried to set it to read and write but kept erroring saying the file system permissions couldn't be changed. Is there any way that I can change this or at least a work around?

Thanks

If the kernel detects a file system error, it sets the file system to read-only state to prevent any further damage. Have you rebooted the machine since the problem started?

Yea, I figured the system was buggy so I rebooted it. Now that you mention it I did see some I/O errors when it was shutting down. If that is the case then I should look into replacing the drive.
