Jexec

When did the service jexec make it's home inside my computer? It's also not clear exactly what it is that jexec does. I've googled on it a little. No patience for that crap. yum whatprovides jexec just returns ancient cave writings.
Code:
Finished
Warning: 3.0.x versions of yum would erronously match against filenames.
You can use "*/jexec" and/or "*bin/jexec" to get that behaviour
No Matches found
So what's up with this thing? Can I just turn it off? My finger is on the trigger.

yea, what is that?

I see it starts up when you boot too. I'm still using 8 so it's been there a while.

I know jexec is a service provided by any SUN Java install (also maybe Iced Tea??). I don't know what it does.

I never had it in F8. Wonder if I really need it.
