Hi I am trying to get fedora 9 to find an old Joystick that I have plugged into the gameport. So far no luck. there is supposed to be a joystick configuration program loaded how can I find it. Iv'e tried using help .jstest - joystick test program but I dont know how to use this tried typing in a terminal, no good
No its not plug and play but there is a general purpose driver in windows and it was easy to set up. Just tried it on the same computer as I using with Fedora. I have plug in hard drives. am emailing the dmesg report.
Ok well there's your problem. Try search on the net to see if you can find the linux version of the driver that you used for the controller in Windows.
I didnt have to load any driver for Windows just configure the type of controler (2 axis 2 button).
there is a folder ready loaded on Fedora 9 called joystick 1.2.15. this folder contains a file named joystick.txt. it attempts to tell you how to compile the joystick driver. If this is the best they can do then Linux is not ready for me or Im not ready for Linux.
