Google Gadgets RPMs
OK. The original thread where I announced this previously got way off-topic and went downhill, so I'm breaking forum rules and posting a new thread. Let's hope it doesn't get as bad as the original thread So, ban me
The F9 Google Gadgets RPMs have been updated again
http://f46.aaa.livedoor.jp/~zoomer/repo/i386/
Current files needed are:
google-gadgets-0.10.1-19.fc9.i386.rpm
google-gadgets-gtk-0.10.1-19.fc9.i386.rpm
Edit: Nokia reports that Google Gadgets has now been built and is being tested in the official Fedora repos. See post #15 in this thread. In Koji there is a QT front-end (for KDE users) as well as the Gnome GTK front-end. 64bit and PPC versions are also available.

I'm getting into my flame-proof suit
Before anyone asks, there are no 64bit RPMs on that site.

Thanks Wayne. I have a strange feeling about this that I cannot explain - just like Mono in your case - but I'll give it a try. And here are the steps to have it installed
Code:
su -
wget http://f46.aaa.livedoor.jp/~zoomer/repo/i386/google-gadgets-gtk-0.10.1-19.fc9.i386.rpm http://f46.aaa.livedoor.jp/~zoomer/repo/i386/google-gadgets-gtk-0.10.1-19.fc9.i386.rpm
yum localinstall google-gadgets-* --nogpgcheck

Hmm, can anyone explain why is it necessary to have so many requirements for a clock ?

Yes, I suppose I could have posted install instructions but......
In my case I already had the previous version installed, so I just did:
rpm -Uvh *.rpm

Ahh, right, you needed the i386 deps.... Some of us still use i386 machines so don't worry about that

Wayne, what happens if you open more gadgets than you vertical resolution allows ? I can't seem to find a scroll to see what gadgets are open beyond visible space.

You're right. It's pretty useless in that respect! Although you can undock Gadgets from the sidebar...
Hold on, I just played about with the Dock and resized it and now all the Gadgets have changed size to fit... almost...

I only installed it to play around with it, not to keep. It slows down my ancient machine too much to be useful.
Actually, said ancient machine is on its last legs. It took over half an hour for it to recognise my primary master and slave hard drives this morning again! Looks like the hard drive controller is fubarred. The disks check out OK.

So couldn't you just leave it running 24/7 as long as it gets ?
( Fedora is incredibly stable for ~ two weeks ago )
