Tomcat5 on Fedora2

My Tomcat5 is installed at: /opt/NetBeans3.6/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19.

Apache 2.0 works OK.

Which environment variables should be used to configure Tomcat5 on Fedora2 and i which file should I write them.

You must set your java home path (i set it in my .bash_profile):

JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.5.0
PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin
export JAVA_HOME PATH

You could also set CATALINA_HOME path wich may point at your Catalina "build" directory (read more in catalina.sh)

To start the server go into tomcat's bin dir and execute startup.sh as root (you could also make another account for tomcat but that would be a security related question then)

Hope it helps!
