Web design/ authoring software for Fedora 9

Hi
I am looking for a good, easy-to-use, yet professional level web design/ authoring software. i looked at Nvu and quanta; but they are centuries old.
I am looking for something a bit more modern and nice. (For example, Adobe's Dreamweaver- like software).
can anyone suggest any such software (preferably free).
I really don't want to go back to Windows.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Not much in the pro league for Linux, I'm afraid. There's Kompozer, which is a bug-fixed version of NVU. A RedHat PRM is available on their site. Or there are non-GUI editors like Bluefish. If you search the forum, you might get a couple more names as this topic comes up occasionally.

I don't mean to speak for the OP, but I think he/she is seeking WYSIWYG software. As far as I understand, Bluefish is a really fancy text editor.

As far as that goes, there's Nvu (runs on Linux), Kompozer (Nvu only beter), and Seamonkey Composer, which is very similar to the other two.

Hi
Thanks for the replies.
I have tried Nvu and Kompozer so far. they are really simple to use and nice.
Just tried bluefish. Like pointed out earlier, it is really "fancy text editor". I was looking for something like...say, an advanced version of Kompozer, with a few more features. Maybe, it is just a wish; but I am also looking out for online web authoring/ designing/ hosting services.
