[fedora 9,printer HP photosmart d7360] can't install printer
hello,
in order to install my printer, I went to the HP site, which redirected me to an other site (I do not have its name no more, but I can retrieve it if needed), and I downloaded a file named "hplip-2.8.7.run", and I entered "sh hplip-2.8.7.run".
the installation begins well, but stop with the following message:
Quote:

note: Installation of dependencies requires an active internet connection
warning: Missing REQUIRED dependency for option 'network': libnetsnmp-devel (libnetsnmp-devel - SNMP networking library development files)

CHECKING FOR NETWORK CONNECTION

it's very odd since I have a valid internet connection (which I use to send this post)...
does anybody have encountered such problem?

You should be able to get your printer working using yum and the Fedora repos.
I installed "hplip cups cups-libs cupssddk-drivers" then as root ran "hp-setup".
I installed my HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One that way.

here is the result:
among all the packages, the last one - cupssddk-drivers seems to not exist.
is this the right name?
I did not ran "hp-setup" yet.
I will search over internet.
thank you all the same.

I went to "add/remove software" and saw cupssddk-drivers was already installed, so I tried to run "hp-setup", here is the result:

Did you reboot after installing the packages, that may make a difference before running hp-setup.

hey it works!
I have rebooted, and I have installed hplip-gui (with the helper "add/remove software"); I launched "hp-setup" and with the graphical interface, there were no problem.
thanks you one more time.
