iptables/VNC question

I'm using iptables behind a D-Link router with 192.168.0.* scheme. I need to poke a few holes in iptables to allow for VNC to work. Can anyone help me the command line syntax to do this?

Try using Firestarter - it's GUI for iptables and apparently makes like much easier:
http://firestarter.sourceforge.net/

Firestarter works with Gnome or KDE.

If you need to poke only a few holes you should try gtk-iptables... it's a GUI for iptables... not so hard to learn

If you have a pretty simple firewall then use the system-config-securitylevel command. You can get there from your menu "System Settings" => "Security Settings"

Add
5900:tcp, 5800:tcp

(Or whatever port your vnc service is running on)

The ports I listed are for using the built in VNC service that comes with KDE. You can configure it under the menu: "System Tools" => "Desktop Sharing"

KDE has a nice VNC client too,"krdc".
