Except that in some cases the final result look pretty much like the original, see this: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/invinxible.ogv

The moon photo was really a stupid thing to use when there are plenty of free replacements. There are two problems with it:
- we provide sources for the graphics, so anyone can open the sources and see that particular photo in its own layer;
- we know that the image is non-Free and would make ourselves hypocrites if we claim it to be Free.
On top of that, we would knowingly breaking the law.

Trust me on this one, folks. You really don't want to get into the whole nasty business of photography/visual arts copyright violation. There be big, ugly, nasty tempered dragons there. Better to ditch an idea than get in a squabble with a dragon.

Nicu: I still have plenty of moon photos which you are absolutely welcome to use under the license structure of your choice if you need them.

Thanks for the offer... it seems sstorari is remaking the image using a free photo from Wikimedia Commons (I was asked if that one is licensed properly and gave an OK).

How on earth do you even discover something like this? Asking a lot of question, or someone actually remembered seeing that sword before?

I don't know. the Kill Bill wallpaper was posted by Paul Frields, I guess he received it from someone else and just forwarded it to the team. I guess is all about exposure, the "many eyes" part.

i'm very sorry for this result, this is a deception because invinxble will take fedora 10 to the top of design/art definetly...

i'am realy gloom now with f10, the solar theme was't original, its so much simple, and dont match with the "big and marvelous" image of F10....

All the four (actually five, since there are two different gears ones) wallpapers are available in rawhide. But I don't think they'll be installed by default, definitely not on the Desktop Live Spin, since we would not fit on a CD...

See http://mso-chronicles.blogspot.com/2...0-artwork.html for info how to install it.

and whats the problem with this ???

if use a killbill sword image, a commom sword that is equal to so many swords that we saw in internet, is a big big problem, simples: use another image, or made a image, another sword, and done....

this is not a reason to dont choose invinxble...

since fedora 8 we saw the same type of theme, the same style.... so much simple and commom to fedora.

but i think that nothing will change, sadly...

As I stated above, it's a done deal. The choice has been made.

There's nothing to be done now, but watch and enjoy as the final polish is applied to SOLAR.

Thread closed.

F10 is out and doing great. Sticky removed.
