how to set an update filter

I'm using F8. I think update feature of fedora is really nice, but I don't want to update Kernel, because I'm using Nvidia driver which builds its own kernel, and also vmware. I concern the update version of the kernel which I don't really need might mess up my system.

So, how do I disable or filter out some options so that it won't bother me anymore?

you add an exclude line to the /etc/yum.conf file, eg

exclude kernel* kmod*
