Media Server that will work with my PS3

I just recently just got a playstation 3, and one of the things I would like to do with my linux server (even my desktop machine, which is running fedora 8 currently) is to be able to have it stream media to my ps3.

I originally thought that the ps3 was able to stream media right off of a windows share, so i installed and configured samba to share files, but after some research i found that it is not the case.

Can you people recommend a program that can do this for me?
