spatial nautilus: close child & open parent with mouse

Please don't confuse this with the close parent & open child middle click.

This concerns the pulldown (or up, rather) menu at the bottom left of the spatial nautilus window.
Middle click on any parent folder should close current (child) window and open the chosen parent
folder, no? For me, it opens the chosen parent window but doesn't close the child window. The
keyboard shortcut for traversing up the directory hierarchy is alt+shift+up but mousing is much
faster.

I'd appreciate it if someone help me figure out if it's a FC2 problem or if it's just my problem. =)
It works in gentoo, by the way (maybe the close child & open parent behavior is a gentoo thing?
I'm not sure).

Someone take a couple of seconds and try it for me. Many thanks in advance~~~
