WD External HD

Hey everybody,

I've got a quick question about my external drive, and I am kinda new here so I hope I put it in the right forum. Anyway, I have a Western Digital my book 320GB external hard drive, and it is divided into two partitions (disk and disk-1). I use the 200 something GB one for streaming media to my ps3 and the other 100 something GB one is just really for miscellaneous stuff. Whenever I start up my computer sometimes the 200Gb one will mount first and sometimes the other one will mount first. It's not really a big deal it's just that when I have it has loaded opposite I have to switch my media tomb around a little bit. So as you can see its not really big deal, its just a little aggravating sometimes. Anyway, is there anything I can do to make them mount in order. Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, all you need to do is set volume labels for the partitions. They should then be mounted at /media/volumename1 and /media/volumename2 consistently. Assuming that the partitions are in ext2/3, you can use the e2label command.
