How to perform a manual media check?

I'm sure this is in a FAQ somewhere but the Googles fail me and a search here didn't find me my answer.

I've burned 6 F9 CDs. During install there's the media check in Anaconda where it gives you a PASS or FAIL on your discs. I'd like to do this manually on another Fedora box before I start the install. What is the command to do this?

Option 1: Install the anaconda-runtime package, and then use the checkisomd5 command, which is basically equivalent to the mediacheck without having to reboot.

Option 2: Use the rawread script given at

    http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/coasterless.htm

which will work with either CDs or DVDs, to read the ISO image off the disk. Pipe into sha1sum and compare with the value listed in the SHA1SUM file. This script is handy to have, I put it in my ~/bin directory and make it executable so I can invoke it like a built-in command.

Edit: You should also be aware of a possible problem with the F9 mediacheck for CDs, where it may report discs 2 through 5 as bad, even though they aren't:

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447452

When this happened to me, I chickened out and did a network install instead, so I don't know if a regular install would have worked. Note that this happens only with an actual F9 mediacheck when booting from the install disc, you probably won't see it using checkisomd5.

Edit 2: I just found that the checkisomd5 command is now contained in the isomd5sum package, so you can just install that instead.
