KDE bugs?? (Taskbar and window effects)

When I enable screen effects in KDE 4 (under F9), the taskbar becomes very ugly. The left and right sides become transparent - maybe 5% of the width of the taskbar on each side, and the top and bottom seem to have a 1 or 2 pixel gap. At the bottom, I see a hint of my wallpaper showing through, and at the top there's a gap between the grayish top of the taskbar and the black taskbar itself. This also happens with Compiz Fusion. Are these just bugs in KDE that will (hopefully) be fixed with the new version comes out?

Also, the taskbar is HUGE! Sure I can adjust it down to small and tiny, but the clock, tray icons, fedora icon on the left side, do not adjust in size themselves but rather get clipped. ugly ugly ugly.
