No. Never done it that way.
What I need to see is what a grub.conf file looks like when a functioning upgrade is rebooted immediately after downloading updates and the updates image is made. If I could see what that looks like, I might be able to work out what to do. Problem is, if it is functioning, it isn't seen, and likely deleted once the upgrade is completed.
Maybe not. If not, I'll just have to do a 3 Gig download instead of a 100 Meg. Bummer.
