F9 - Can't get Firefox to be Preferred

I have set Firefox as the preferred app under preferred apps. However if I drag a web address off of firefox to create a desktop link, it always ends up being opened in Konqueror when I click on it in Gnome.

Any ideas?

I am a KDE user and could not even drag and drop a link on the desktop. I use firefox and it is my preferred app. I just put all shortcuts in as tabs or bookmarks.

In firefox go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General
There should be an item that configures firefox as the default browser.

No luck. That checkbox is checked and Fedora claims it is the preferred app.

Ok. Since the last post I went back into the preferred apps settings through Preferences->Personal and the application was now "custom". It was set to Firefox before. I'm guessing visiting the section in FF caused the change to custom. I set it back to firefox and everything works. Very strange!
