Stuck in GUI HELP!

Okay I was trying to install my Nvidia on fedora and I'm still having trouble now it is having trouble with the kernel module but thats not my problem at the moment I was reading something someone posted and the said to press Ctrl+Alt+backspace so I did that and it got rid of my X server problem but now I can get out of it will someone please help.

Which Fedora are you running?
e.g - Fedora 7, Fedora 8 etc

Oh sorry
Ok so, if you hold down CTRL+ALT+F1 , then login as your user,
type
Code:
su -
Then enter password for root
then when your logged in as root, type
Code:
init 3
this should of disabled the X server.
then when your done with your nvidia drivers etc type
Code:
init 5.
that will take you back to what you was originally using (most likely)

That was to disable x server, install nvidia drivers/whatever, then re enable x server.

What's your current situation exactly? can you describe please.

umm well basic thing is I just need to get back to the login screen. and I cant install Nvidia because it said it cant build a kernel module

OK then try...

CTRL+ALT+F1

login as your user
then type
Code:
su -
and enter your root password

Then as root, type
Code:
init 5
Note:Make sure you add the - after su otherwise you wont be able to use init

it should of changed the run level back to 5

press

CTRL+ALT+F7

And you should see the login window/screen
