I've recently been installing Fedora with great success on older laptops I have lying around the house after HD crashes etc... and now I'm looking into the whole SAMBA issue with a nixed network.
the questions I have are do I need to run SAMBA on each of my Laptops, in order for them to communicate with the rest of my windows network, or can I set up one SAMBA server that all the computers look to for authentication. I'm also looking to set up roving profiles possibly, and a true network environment. up to this time myu computers have really all been stand alone boxes that only use the shared printer for any kind of networking sharing. they really aren't the same profile, on seperate machines, and don;t know anything about the lan.'
So what I'm really interested in doing is moving to networking and profile management in my home network. Or is this a complete waste of time.
