Grub fails to boot Vista in an F8-Vista dual boot

After installing F8 alongside the pre-installed Vista in a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, I cannot get grub to boot Vista (shown as 'other' in the respective menu). When 'other' is selected, grub produces the message 'BOOTMGR is missing' and suggests hitting ctrl+alt+del to restart, which of course brings me right back to the above error message. Any fixes?

During F8 installation, I opted for the default choice of where to boot from, i.e., from Vista's MBR, if I understood correctly.

Post the output of the command cat /boot/grub/menu.lst and /sbin/fdisk -l please.
