CD-RW unable to burn

Hi there, I have been unable to burn to CD-RW or DVD-RW since installing Fedora 8.
I go through the normal steps using CD/DVD Creator.
After I have clicked on 'Write to disc' a message comes up saying "Error writing to disc - There was an error writing to the disc".
I cannot find out why.
Can anyone help.
