New icon theme
Hi all,
not sure if this should be here or in wibble, but had to mention that the new (i presume) oxygen-icon-theme in F9 looks really good,
Also at the risk of sounding really dumb here but why fc9 i thought core was dropped or does it mean something else

Hi Dangermouse:
I guess you are referring to the KDE default icon theme, or this is a new one for Fedora 9?

well,
i have been told that they kept the fc in the package names for consistency reasons and the fact that it would be too much work and break the whole shabang to rearrange the package tree by dropping the "c" but that it actually does stand for "core" and thus is in fact deprecated.

oxygen-icon-theme will be packaged separately when the kde-4.0.3 devplatform is rev'd for F-7, F-8. In the meantime, it's included in kdebase-runtime (tho, 'yum install oxygen-icon-theme' should still get it now).

Yes it is in the development repo now
Just installed it in f8 as well now, and it doesnt look as good, the desktop icons etc do not work properly , but then its not meant for f8, for those thinking of installing it in f8 its not probably not worth it,
guess ill have to stick with echo-icon-theme for f8
