KDE Application Launcher icon and panel problems

First off, how does one move widgets along the panel? Whenever I add a widget, it appears where it wants to, not where I originally clicked.

In the process of switching the panel size to anything smaller than normal, the fedora application launcher is cut off at the bottom. All the other icons minimize accordingly except for this one. Along with that, by making the panel tiny you can see another icon from another desktop/workspace at the top of the screen. Whenever the application launcher is clicked it will expand below the one on the top of the screen.

I'll put up a picture as soon as I can. Any help would be appreciated.

Restarting X server might help after changing panel size (CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE). Other thing - clock and other menus have become dumb in KDE 4, less configurable, etc. It is a step towards GNOME ant it works and looks worse than KDE 3... :-(

Originally, plasma/panel lacked the ability to move widgets once placed. We recently included a backported patch to (re)enable this, in kdebase-workspace-4.0.3-17
