You can remove the kernel module and add the module to the Modprobe blacklist:

Code:
su -
[Your root password]
rmmod pcspkr
gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
Scroll to the bottom of the blacklist file and add:
Code:
# Annoying Speaker
blacklist pcspkr
Done

If I am using a laptop will this also stop my music playback? Assuming I don't have speakers plugged in.

Nope, I've tried it on my own laptop - the "pcspkr" module actually only controls the piezo speaker soldered to your motherboard PCB, not the laptop's stereo speakers
