Urban Terror help!

I changed my screen resolution in Urban Terror and got the "output not supported" black screen. How can I change back to the original configuration? I couldn't find a configuration file for it. I tried uninstalling urbanterror and quake3 packages and reinstalling but it doesn't completely remove UT. Then I did a yum clean all - still doesn't completely remove it. Thanks!

i dont remember but theres a folder that has the config files. i think its in the etc folder or something but im having the same problem i used fedora 8 and installed urbanterror and it worked fine i know am useing fedora 9 and wanted to install all the games and installed the quke3 demo and now when i start Urt it starts with the ID logo instead of the whitesands logo. and the main menu is all messed up i cant see the words on the menu so i cant do any thing about it. ill look into it and hope i can figure it out.

Installation

If you have Quake 3 Arena and want to continue using PunkBuster: Make
sure you have Quake 3 Arena updated with Point Release 1.32(c) and
update PunkBuster with pbsetup. Copy the q3ut4 folder from 4.1 to your
quake3-directory and make shortcut to quake3.exe. Add "+set fs_game q3ut4"
to the targetfield of the shortcut.

If you don't have Quake 3 Arena and/or don't care about PunkBuster:
Run the 4.1 installer or unzip the 4.1 zip.

ok i looked around and found in the zpak000.pk3 had a config file and it says at the top that if you don't have a q3config.cfg file it uses defaults or something and then it saves it in the q3config.cfg file when you first start the game. you may need to delete the q3config.cfg file as root and then try starting urbanterror again if it doesn't work remove and reinstall Urt and see if it helps if not i don't know what to tell you on how to fix it maybe some one can see this with better knowledge and let us know.

i suggest waiting till some one really knows what there talking about im just guessing from reading things in the config files. there may be more i have to read.

sorry all that work i did isnt going to help what i did is make a new user and logged in as root and ported all the wallpapers and settings i had on the previous user account and ran the downoader manager for Urt and it works. now all i gotta do is figure out how to wget all the maps and make a repo to keep the maps updated.

im sorry but im not sure wht the real problem is.
did you download and install from the urt site

and if not did u do it through the package manager also do this

in the consol su
then your password
then
yum install yumex

use yumex to install the game

it sounds to me that u may have selinux and or your firewall settings set bloking some of your actions when u acces the internet with UrT.

go into selinux management
and change it from enforceing to permisive or turn it off u dont really need it running cause linux doesnt get viruses or ever really crash. it very rare for it to crash.

I installed the game, and on launching it starts downloading a 732ish MB file. Today was the first time I let it finish, and it didn't do anything, so I clicked the "Next Mirror" button, and it started to download something else, then I got an error about the MD5 not matching, and it went back and started the 700+ MB download from scratch. Anybody know what's going on?

just kill the window and try again

also let it do it all n the first mirror as u probably got it installed already by now.
if it doesnt work just restart and then try installing it again

if your missing icy jump maps ill upload it via media fire and post here if requested. as i have a problem downloading maps with fedora. its the libcurl thing having problems dont really wana fix it im lazy.

ok plain and simple when you install the game. you need to let it download from the mirror and do not interrupt it from the first mirror no matter how long it takes.

anyone else still get some missing maps when you download the 700mb file, the autodownload option in the game doesn't seem to work.

also gnome-screensaver kicks in and you lose keyboard and mouse control and have to kill -9 it and restart X11

sej im not sure what to tell you im a kde user or i will go to the xfce de to play the game its faster when you play it there.

try checking some of the options in the screen saver settings or disable the screen saver i don't use them my self.

what i do is when im done i turn off my pc and go to bed
the typical use of a machine.
