OK here is the problem, when i try to do a system upgrade as root, it will not do it it will stall. If i log in as a underprivileged user it will work any ideas?

I find it easier to update Fedora from a shell. Open Gnome terminal or something similar to it. Switch to su, then type 'yum update' or 'yum check-update'
